Human Attack Surface: Threat Trends 2025

An evidence-based analysis of how AI, deepfakes, and OSINT are transforming social engineering into a high-impact, human-focused attack vector.

Our Story

We are a Berlin-based team (previously named Company Shield) united by a mission to protect humans as they remain the weakest link in cybersecurity. As attackers are weaponizing AI to exploit vulnerabilities, they are leaving countless companies victimized by ruthless cyberattacks.

So, we are determined to create 10 Million Human Firewalls by 2028!

Our journey began when our three founders met at the German software decacorn Celonis. Witnessing the growing cyber threat to customers firsthand - and experiencing ineffective IT security trainings - they recognized the need for a fresh approach to human cybersecurity.

A data-driven analysis of how AI-powered, human-focused attacks are reshaping the threat landscape.
This report examines how social engineering attacks have fundamentally changed in 2025.

Using data from over 100,000 security simulations, including 10,000 vishing calls, revel8 shows how attackers increasingly rely on AI, voice cloning, OSINT, and multi-channel communication to target humans rather than systems.

The findings explain why traditional security controls fall short and what organizations must do in 2026 to adapt.
