Lana Kuzmina

Threat Intel Analyst

Hi! I’m
Lana Kuzmina

Lana Kuzmina is a Cyber Threat Analyst at revel8, specializing in OSINT, threat actor tracking, and intelligence reporting. With experience across early threat detection and malware research, she brings a sharp eye for uncovering emerging attack techniques and translating them into actionable insights for defenders.

At revel8, we believe effective cybersecurity awareness starts with understanding how attackers actually think and operate. That work requires people who are willing to go deep into data, into patterns, and sometimes into places most organizations never look. One of those people is Lana, our cybersecurity expert responsible for tracking emerging attack trends and translating them into realistic, hands-on simulations.

Lana was born in Odessa, Ukraine, and has a background in computer science, where she built a strong technical foundation early on. Over the years, she has worked across multiple roles in IT environments, including sales, production, and business analysis. That cross-functional experience gives her a rare perspective: she understands not only how attacks are executed, but also how they impact real teams, workflows, and business decisions.

What ultimately drew Lana into cybersecurity was its combination of complexity, constant change, and real-world consequences. Cyber threats are not static or theoretical, they evolve daily, often in ways that are deliberately opaque. That challenge is exactly what motivates her. She actively researches attacker behavior, underground forums, and dark web ecosystems to identify how cybercriminals are adapting their techniques, tools, and social engineering strategies.

At revel8, Lana’s role is to turn that intelligence into action. She continuously scouts for new and emerging attack patterns and then works to implement them directly into our cybersecurity simulations. This ensures that our training scenarios reflect what employees are actually likely to encounter: not generic threats, but realistic, current, and sometimes uncomfortable situations that mirror real attacks. Her focus is always on relevance: if a threat isn’t happening in the wild, it doesn’t belong in awareness training.

Lana is deeply analytical and reads extensively to stay ahead of trends, but she is equally driven by outcomes. She values seeing the direct impact of her work: how research turns into simulations, and how those simulations change behavior. For her, cybersecurity awareness is most effective when people can experience threats firsthand, understand the logic behind them, and discuss them openly.

What sets Lana apart is her ability to connect research, practice, and purpose. She is not interested in cybersecurity as an abstract discipline, but as a tool for doing tangible good: helping organizations protect themselves and empowering individuals to recognize risks before they turn into incidents. With her expertise and curiosity, Lana plays a central role in keeping revel8’s simulations grounded in reality and ahead of the threat landscape.
